“Lilly” was born right in front of them when her mother was hit by a car. And not giving the baby deer good odds, the family tried to nurse her back to health.
It worked – and Lilly has been part of the family ever since.
They have since applied for an Exhibition Class Permit, which would allow them to continue raising the deer in the house, and we hope everything works out. After all, we don’t know how well Lilly would do in the wild without her Frisbee, futon, and domestic housecat best friend.
