H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the retired general credited with leading U.S.-allied forces to a victory in the first Gulf War, has died at age 78, a U.S. official confirmed. We thank you General for all your service and sacrifice and hope you Rest In Peace.

He reportedly died from complications from pneumonia.

Friends of the General say he never cared for the "Stormin' Norman" nickname, but rather preferred the somewhat milder sobriquet given by his troops: "The Bear."
