Postal Service says it’s immune from local traffic laws, report says.

A government lawyer is attempting to get about $700 in traffic tickets dismissed. They were given to U.S. Postal Service employees in Cleveland, and she is claiming the USPS is immune from state and local regulations.

Postal Service attorney Jennifer. S. Breslin says the infractions, which include speeding and red-light infractions, should be ignored.

I love what the Mayor has to say...not only does he doubt the validity but gives a nice jab back. “I was unaware that the post office doesn’t have to stop at red lights or obey the speed limit,” he told Cleveland.com. “But since they are, I wish I’d get my mail faster.” Hahaha.

We'll have to wait to see what the court says...but I have a feeling the courts will not allow that as a valid argument because if this nonsense applies to them, then they could be out drinking and driving and it wouldn't be illegal for them...or run people down and not get in trouble...on and on.
