A few of my favorite sites.
For Pet Owners a Must Read:
www.entirelypets.com/toxicfoods.html - this site will tell you all things toxic for your pets. Some will surprise you, like did you know a grape or raisin can kill your dog?
Check to see if something on the Internet is true or not:
www.truthorfiction.com/ - You know all those e-mails that spread like wildfire but seem a bit too unbelievable?! ie; 'a special new spider that waits to attack you from underneath toilet seats'... or 'watch out for needles on gas pump handles'! Well this site will clue you in as to whether they are Truth or Fiction. I always go there now before forwarding any email to friends that way none of us look foolish :)
www.gardenersnet.com/ - Another must-log-onto site for gardeners. Any query you may have can most likely be answered here.
imdb.com/ - Okay how many times have you been chatting w/someone and either you or they are trying to remember; the name of an actor, what movie they were in, who directed a picture, or even who did the soundtrack. This site will instantaneously answer all those questions and more. Also a great cheat site to prepare for an upcoming game of Scene It!!
Thank our Troops:
www.letssaythanks.com/ Really great way, and super fast too, to say thank you to our troops. Just log on, pick a card to send and a message to include and Xerox will send the card to a soldier absolutely FREE!!! After all it wouldn't be home of the free without the brave; let's thank the troops for thier incredible bravery and show how much we appreciate them and thier sacrifices.
VALERIE HARPER from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Rhoda" was diagnosedwith terminal brain cancer back in March, and she said her doctors had given her as little as three months to live.
But last week, she celebrated her 74th birthday . . . and now, there's speculation that she's joined the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars".
TMZ claims she's been paired with TRISTAN MACMANUS, and they've been practicing for two weeks. Sources say Valerie is "surprisingly good," and "doesn't need any special assistance, at least so far."
Meanwhile, TMZ is also reporting that the cast will include: "Showgirls" superstar Elizabeth Berkley, Snooki, Leah Remini, Amber Riley from "Glee", and singer Christina Milian . . . who is more famous these days for being the social media correspondent on "The Voice".
"Star" magazine says JACK OSBOURNE is also doing it . . . despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last year. An "insider" says, quote, "[Jack] has been through a rough time . . . [but] is anxious to prove that nothing can stop him."
E! News says former NFL wide receiver KEYSHAWN JOHNSON is onboard . . . and "In Touch Weekly" added two other names to the mix: JC CHASEZ from 'N SYNC and "Backdoor Teen Mom" FARRAH ABRAHAM.
There have been less-reliable rumors about "Family Guy" creator SETH MACFARLANE dancing . . . plus, JOHN STAMOS, and 15-year-old BELLA THORNE, who stars on the Disney Channel show "Shake It Up".
Oh, and there was also that silly talk about PAULA DEEN throwing her buttery candy-coating around the dance floor.
(That probably won't happen, but there's an opportunity there. The show hasn't had a male, African American pro partner yet, and has been criticized for it. So, this sets up a unique two-birds-with-one-stone situation, right?)
As usual, ABC wouldn't comment on any of the rumors. The official cast announcement will be made next Wednesday on "Good Morning America".
Back to Valerie Harper: You have to give her a lot of credit. She's been active ever since her diagnosis, doing guest spots on TV shows, and even a made-for-TV movie. She's clearly not letting cancer keep her down. Go Valerie, we hope you defy the odds for many years to come!
